CAFE BREW COLLECTION Reusable 8-12 Cup Basket Coffee Filter Fits Mr. Coffee Makers and Brewers, BPA Free

This filter fits the Hamilton Beach 12-cup Brewstation (model 48464). That may not sound like a big deal, but it’s literally the only reason I can think of to buy this particular filter–it seems all the other advertised reusable filters for that particular model DO NOT FIT IN THE COFFEEMAKER’S TRAY–not if you want to shut the lid completely.On average, I’d say this filter is approximately 8 mm shorter than your store-bought gold wire reusable basket-style coffee filter. That eight millimeters makes all the difference in the world if you actually want to shut your coffee lid and have it stay shut when brewing. Why Hamilton Beach decided to make the filter tray that tiny bit taller so that you couldn’t just drop in any generic reusable filter, I don’t know (perhaps malicious reasons, perhaps not, considering you can’t actually buy the filter advertised to fit inside the 48464 model off Amazon–just some other ones that are too big).Otherwise, it seems like a generic, functional coffee filter. I use it because I don’t want to periodically buy paper filters (and I don’t want to have to throw them away after using them). The fact that it is shorter than most basket filters probably means that it can’t hold as much coffee, but that’s not an issue for me (I just want the bloody machine to shut when I use it). Considering the weeks it took for me to actually find a filter that fit Hamilton Beach’s annoying shallow tray, I’m happy for the price–it certainly beats buying the intended accessory from spare part sellers for four times the price.
